Prosthodontics Specialty
A Prosthodontist is a specialist dentist with postgraduate training in the field of restoration to improve aesthetics and functions of the smile. In a team consisting of general dentist, specialist and/or other health professional, a Prosthodontist regularly assumes the lead role in developing solutions, planning, coordinating, and placing the final crowns, bridges or dentures that make up your smile. In short, a Prosthodontist is your first point of call to help you plan your complex dental treatment.
In Australia, a Prosthodontist is a specialist dentist who completed postgraduate training at an Australian accredited university and registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency to work in the field of dental reconstruction. Our principal and owner of Laurea Dental is Dr. Sofie Bui, a female Specialist Prosthodontist, who will look after your dental needs with her gentle and caring approach.

If you are referred to our practice by your family dentist, we would be working closely with your referring dentist to ensure the best outcome achievable.

Our Principal Dentist, Dr. Sofie Bui
Dr. Sofie Bui graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Dentistry (Honours) and worked for a number of years in both private and public sectors in Queensland and the Australian Capital City.
To better service patients, she undertook further postgraduate training in Prosthodontics in an intensive doctorate degree of three years, under the Australian Postgraduate Scholarship, at the University of Adelaide.
The specialist training prepared her for a broader diagnostic and treatment skillset that Dr. Sofie is now offering to patients in Robina, Gold Coast and surrounding regions.
